Why I am Switching To FLEX Power Tools

Why I am Switching To FLEX Power Tools

Flex Power Tools

Yes, I am switching to FLEX Power Tools, but let me explain.  Does it mean I am getting rid of all my other brand-name power tools, absolutely not.  Let’s face it, there are a lot of great brands on the market like Hilti, Milwaukee, Dewalt, Bosch, and just to name a few.  We have all seen the long-term durability and reliability of the aforementioned brands and we know how good they are.  FLEX is somewhat new to the market so I figure let’s see how these hold up over the long run.  See, I am only switching my tools at my shop.  In my shop, we do a lot of projects and different types of testing so we will use these tools a lot.  Plus we lend them out to our neighbors because apparently, our neighbors are too cheap to buy their own tools.

So I figure why not switch our shop tools to FLEX Power Tools and see how they hold up and how much we like this brand? So who is FLEX Power Tools?

FLEX Power Tools – Who is FLEX?

FLEX is owned by a company called Chervon.  Chervon is not new to the game.  In fact, they have been making tools for well-known power tool companies for over 20 years.  Chervon-built products are sold by more than 30,000 stores in 100 different countries, so you can see they are a powerhouse and extremely knowledgeable in the power tool industry.

Besides FLEX, they also own SKIL and EGO.  EGO came out in 2014 and changed the way we look at and use battery-powered Outdoor Power Equipment such as lawnmowers, blowers, trimmers, etc.  Ever since they came to market, all the other OPE companies have been playing catch-up.

We had a chance to see firsthand their research and development, along with their manufacturing facilities, and let me just say, talk about the state-of-the-art technology, Chervon is incredible.  I am not going to get all in-depth but it is amazing.  One example is their battery platform and how they create one of the best battery packs in the marketplace.

Because they have state-of-the-art research facilities, they can produce some of the best quality products and that is the reason they can offer one of the best warranties in the market – a Limited Lifetime Warranty.

As a note, this is just the start.  We are going to be getting more tools for the shop and FLEX will be releasing more tools over the next year, which we will also include in our shop tools. So besides seeing how these hold up long term, what started our switch to FLEX?

Why Am I Switching to FLEX Power Tools

Flex Power Tools

This is what our wall looked like before the move.  As you can see, we have some quality name-brand tools.  When it came down to it, it’s not that we didn’t like these tools, we just didn’t like the inconvenience of the different battery platforms.  We have ten tools on the wall that require six different types of batteries.  So when we would grab tools and go outside or to a different location, we were always doubling up on everything.  We had to take all the batteries and all these different chargers, it became a pain.  So that is the real reason we made the change.  I already explained why we went with FLEX for this change.

So now that you know why we made the change, let’s take a look at some of the tools we are going to be using in the shop.

FLEX Power Tools – More To Come

As I said, we will continue to expand the tools in the shop as they release new tools.  We do not have every tool FLEX makes, we just have the tools we need to get started and the common tools we use.

So as we move forward, we are not saying FLEX is an end-all.  We understand there are other manufacturers and in our shop, you will continue to see other brands that we like also.  We just needed a center stone battery platform to make our everyday life easier and wanted to give FLEX Power Tools a chance and see how they perform.  They are quality tools, that are powerful and we have liked working with these tools before we made the change.
